During the Open Lab Summer Student Program, students will enjoy the following benefits:

-> An association contract spanning 9 weeks for involvement in an advanced IT project.

-> Access to a comprehensive IT lecture program.

-> A daily subsistence allowance of 92 CHF to cover accommodation and meal expenses for the entire duration.

-> Travel allowance is provided at the end of the stay to assist with travel costs between Geneva and the student’s residence.

-> Coverage under CERN’s comprehensive Health Insurance scheme.

Assistance in finding accommodation either on the CERN site or in a nearby hotel.

2. Short-Term Internship 2024

CERN places a strong emphasis on education, with experts enthusiastically sharing their knowledge with dedicated and passionate students. Undergraduate students in technical fields looking for training for a few months should explore the possibility of interning at CERN.
We have a limited number of placements available in practical training programs, spanning a duration of 1 to 6 months. As an intern, students will receive a monthly allowance of 1,557 CHF, gaining valuable experience for educational growth.

3. CERN Summer Student Program 2024

In the CERN Summer Student Program, students will be engaged in an advanced technical project for 8 to 13 weeks.

Throughout this unique and thrilling experience, students will have the opportunity to participate in a specially curated series of lectures. These sessions, conducted by experts worldwide, cover a variety of topics in theoretical and experimental particle physics, engineering, and computing. The program also includes visits to CERN facilities, discussion sessions, and workshops.
